Develops and applies advanced methods, theories and research techniques in the investigation and solution of complex and advanced software applications and problems. This position requires direct interface with technical peers, chief engineers, system engineers, and program managers within the company.
Responsibilities: This job requires the candidate to perform database design engineering tasks, inclusive of those identified below, with little to no supervision:
Design, configuration, installation, and test of a database infrastructure that supports the processing, exploitation and dissemination of collected intelligence.
Responsible for the full engineering lifecycle including deriving system-level requirements from architectural guidelines and project objectives and developing detailed designs with supporting implementation.
Implements data strategies, builds data flows and develops physical databases in support of project objectives and high-level system requirements.
Specifies primary keys, sets up table relationships, and applies normalization rules to ensure tables are structured.
Responsible for test and transition to a prime integrator.
Designs, models, documents, and guides the logical and conceptual relationship of data and database changes for product-line applications.
Collaborates with software engineers on system characteristics that affect software systems and works with them to resolve incompatibilities
Support the development of technical proposals
Prepare presentation material (SSR, PDR, CDR, TRR, TIMs) and present at customer reviews and technical interchange meetings
Participate in customer meetings, peer reviews, and problem solving meetings
Analyze and document customer requirements, expectations and constraints
Mentor and coach the development team
Required: Greater than eight (8) years’ experience in similar position
Preferred: Current DoD Top Secret SCI Security Clearance
Strong Knowledge of Oracle
Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems or a related discipline from an accredited university
Preferred: Master’s Degree or PhD in Computer Science or Engineering from an accredited university
Strong background in data warehousing principles, system infrastructure and its implementation in real-time environments
Experience with Business Intelligence systems to include Data Warehousing, SQL, Data Modeling, Report Design and Development Must be a collaborative team player, have strong technical writing and verbal communication skills, and understand the importance of risk management and engineering within a process oriented environment
Proven ability to successfully multi-task in a highly collaborative team environment
Willingness to seek-out and assume increasing responsibilities as work load changes
Experience in successfully leading software teams throughout project life cycle
Possess excellent communication skills, with an emphasis on verbal and written communication
Proven ability to solve problems quickly and completely
Working knowledge of security and encryption
Ability to facilitate client meetings and demonstrate strong presentation skills
Ability to travel approximately 25% of the time
Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level (requires U.S. Citizenship).
